Privacy Policy
The Daily Stack Guides is a small, static site. We collect very little, and we've written this in plain English on purpose — no dense legal boilerplate.
What we collect
- Email address, if you subscribe. If you sign up for our newsletter, The AI Stack, we collect the email address you provide so we can send you issues. That's it — we don't ask for anything else to subscribe.
- Basic analytics. Like most sites, we collect standard, aggregate traffic data (roughly: which pages get visited, general location at the country/region level, device type) so we know which guides are useful. This is not tied to your name or used to build an individual profile of you.
We don't run tracking pixels for ad networks, and we don't have a login system, comments section, or account system that would require collecting more than the above.
We don't sell your data
We don't sell, rent, or trade your email address or any other data to third parties. Full stop. If we ever earn a commission through an affiliate link you click, that's paid by the company you signed up with based on the fact that you came from our link — it does not involve us handing over your personal data to them beyond what you voluntarily give them on their own signup page.
Third-party services we use
| Service | What it's for |
|---|---|
| beehiiv | Hosts our email newsletter and subscriber list. If you subscribe, your email is stored with beehiiv under their own privacy policy and security practices. |
| Cloudflare | Hosts and serves this website (Cloudflare Pages) and may log basic, aggregate request data as part of normal web hosting and security. |
We don't control how these providers handle data beyond what we send them; we'd encourage you to check their own privacy policies if you want the full technical detail.
Cookies
This site may use a small number of cookies or local-storage entries for basic functionality and aggregate analytics (for example, to avoid double-counting a page view). We don't use cookies for cross-site ad targeting.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter any time using the link at the bottom of every email — this removes you from the list.
- You can browse every guide on this site without ever giving us an email address.
- You can block cookies and most analytics using ordinary browser settings or an ad-blocker; the site will still work.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way — for example, if we add a new third-party service that handles reader data — we'll update this page. As a small, one-person site, we don't currently maintain a formal version history for this document.
Questions
This policy is meant to be a plain, accurate description of a genuinely simple setup: an email list on beehiiv, static pages on Cloudflare, and disclosed affiliate links. See our affiliate disclosure for how affiliate links specifically work.
